Mission and Values
The mission of South Metro Elite is to evolve the culture of youth athletics. Specifically, we strive to change the "win at all costs", negative youth sports environment to a healthier, more positive environment through a focus on teaching, coaching and learning.
Our values are represented in the S.I.M. acronym that we teach our players during practices and games. S.I.M. stands for Success is Mental. Wins are not only based on talent, the majority of life successes are mental. Elite is not a type of talent but a mindset of what type of player you will be. … In today's society we put such an emphasis on an athlete's physical pressures of being ELITE.
Here at SME we believe to grow your talent athletically and have success in the sport you play YOU Must first be able to grow mentally and have a higher IQ than your opponent. We teach you how to be successful on and off the court.
We offer several levels of play from beginners to high level experienced players. They are:
South Metro Elite
South Metro Prospects
South Metro Select
Location
SME is comprised of athletes from the Twin Cities South Metro. Practices are held gyms in the southern suburbs. SME is based in Burnsville, MN.
SME Basketball
SME basketball is a registered member of the National AAU organization.
